The theme for this year’s celebration is “Hey, Hey, The Blues is All Green,” highlighting the rich Blues heritage of Mississippi. The grand marshal is legendary Bluesman and Jacksonian Jesse Robinson. The parade and festival will raise funds for Children’s of Mississippi, the state’s only hospital for children.

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – The National Park Service (NPS) began mill and overlay asphalt repair work on the ramps from Natchez Trace Parkway to Interstate 55. This has resulted in nightly closures as of March 4. According to the NPS, the closures will occur from 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. as work progresses, starting with the north bound on-ramp. All work on the highway ramps will be done under nighttime closures throughout the duration of the project.

WEST POINT, Miss. (WJTV) – Fabricators Supply will expand its operations in West Point. The project is a $2.675 million corporate investment and will create 15 jobs, according to officials. Fabricators Supply offers a range of metal fabrication capabilities, including drilling, pressing, milling, plasma cutting and design. The expansion adds enhanced laser fabrication to the company’s current operations.
