SMETHPORT, Pa. — An Ellicottville, N.Y., man who led police on a two-state, high-speed chase in January 2024 while on bail in another matter was sentenced to state prison Thursday in McKean County Court. Patrick Fuhr, 65, will serve 6 years to 12 years in state prison, pay restitution, be subject to other terms and be ineligible for any early parole programs, according to McKean County District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer. All 95 charges against Fuhr had been bound to court on Feb.

BRADFORD, Pa. — Work has resumed at Kinzua Bridge State Park in McKean County to renovate and rehabilitate the Skywalk, a popular tourist destination near Mount Jewett. "Currently, contractors are back on-site and have begun the work of removing and replacing rivets along the bottom flange of the superstructure," Park manager Alan C. Johnson said.

In response to popular demand, Duke Center writer Bill Robertson has released a second edition of his work “The Bucktails' Last Call.”The book, originally released in 2007 by Robertson and co-author David Rimer, had gone out of print when the print-on-demand publishing company Infinity Publishing went out of business. It's a continuation of a story about two men who served in the Bucktails, the Civil War regiment formed locally. With the first edition, the cover showed a photo of reenactors.
