INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Heavy rain, with a few strong storms, highlight an active holiday weekend. Friday:Temperatures are unseasonably warm this morning, with many areas in the 50s and 60s. A cold front stretching from eastern Iowa to central Oklahoma is slowly moving toward central Indiana. Ahead of it, a strong surge of very warm and humid air is coming in from the Gulf. Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies today. There is a chance of isolated light showers in the late afternoon.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Parts of central Indiana could pick up over 4″ of rainfall through the weekend. Thursday:We are starting Thursday with quiet, clear, and crisp conditions across the state. Temperatures will warm quickly with dry air and plenty of sunshine through the morning hours. In the afternoon, a thin band of light rain is expected to move across the state as a warm front surges through Central Indiana. The best chances for rain will be in the western half of the area.

Along with the cold front, there may be a few sprinkles in the northern and eastern portions of our state. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies and breezy conditions with cool temperatures. Wind gusts will reach around 25 to 30 mph this afternoon.

A warm front moving through the state will bring a strong push from the south and west, with wind gusts up to 30 mph at times and mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will surge into the upper 60s and lower 70s this afternoon. Monday night:Expect mostly cloudy conditions with a few isolated showers during the early evening hours.
