The Department for the Economy said it had accepted a disqualification undertaking for eight years from Roberta Carson (42) of Clonduff Drive in Belfast over her conduct as a director of Fourwinds Cleaners. Her business was set up in July 2019 to provide cleaning services from a registered office at 2 Market Place, Carrickfergus. It went into liquidation on May 22 2022 owing creditors £18,000.

However, a pre-tax loss from continuing operations at the business, which is soon to be sold, deepened from £20.3m (€24.1m) last year to £29.1m (€34.6m). It said that over the year, the performance of its KX business had been strong, with bookings over the financial year at the top end of guidance and ahead of expectations. Annual contract value (ACV) had reached £18m, which was up 33pc year on year.

Resonate Testing said it had scaled up its operations and applied for planning permission for a new facility on its site. It has also installed a testing system known as a thermal vacuum chamber (TVAC) used to simulate the harsh conditions of space. It has also added a ‘shaker table’ for electrical vehicle and space sector clients requiring large battery testing capabilities.

Michael and Lesley Herbert have bought Abbey Centre in Newtownabbey in an off-market deal for £58.8m, it was announced on Tuesday. It adds another major asset to their growing shopping centre portfolio. The transaction was announced on Tuesday by NewRiver REIT, the real estate investment trust which bought Abbey Centre in 2014. The 320,000 sq ft shopping centre has around 70 shops, a food court and a doctors’ surgery.

The assets are among properties to be auctioned off in an online sale by commercial property agents Osborne King on June 26. Some of them belong to the same Northern Ireland property investor who is now selling many of their assets which are let to major businesses. The KFCs are both drive-thrus and are located at Hanover Place in Coleraine and at Harbour Estate in Larne.
