ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - A police presence was reported outside of a pub in Rock Island Wednesday afternoon. TV6 is on scene outside of Poor Boys Pizza & Pub, 4121 18th Avenue, where crime scene tape can be seen along with multiple police officers. TV6 is working to learn more information and has reached out to authorities on this incident. TV6 arrived on scene at approximately 3 p.m. This is a developing story. MILAN, Ill. (KWQC/Gray News) - A McDonald’s employee in Illinois is being recognized for his positivity and optimism while serving customers. Nate Coleman, a crew trainer, was given a Hospitality Ambassador award for his outstanding work in customer service. Coleman was presented with the award by Dennis and Trina Gendron, the local owners of the McDonald’s restaurant, on Friday. Coleman is a familiar face in many McDonald’s locations around the Quad Cities.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -The Bix is a big event for many people specifically for the Langan’s family who’ve had at least 20 members running the course every year since the 80s. It all started with the grandparents, Bill and Peggy, around 45 years ago, when they ran their first Bix. Cyclists at the time, the couple always loved to practice exercises and saw the Bix as an opportunity to continue to be physically active.

Marking its 45th anniversary, the Walcott Truckers Jamboree kicked off Thursday morning at the Iowa 80 Truckstop. The three-day event celebrates professional truck drivers and their contributions to the economy. Attractions include a super truck beauty contest, an Iowa pork chop cookout, an antique truck display, and trucker Olympics.

It’s part of a campaign called “Flood the Neighborhood.” Motor Row businesses are asking for donations ranging from food to personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies.

MILAN, Ill. (KWQC) - The Quad City Animal Welfare Center is providing low-cost vaccines, exams, and other services, and pet owners are responding by the dozens. The clinic hosts a drive-up service that allows customers to bring their pets in the car to get checked from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. every Wednesday and the first Saturday of every month. Services include vaccinations, medicines, grooming and exams.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -Gilda’s Club has declared that with the grant from the Iowa Cancer Consortium they are going to offer two new virtual services that will be accessible to the entire state of Iowa at no cost. The two new services will start on Sept. 1 and will consist in two weekly support groups, one for the person diagnosed and one for friends, family and caregivers, and also a monthly educational program on multiple cancer-related topics.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Isabel Bloom is hosting a summer festival as a way to commemorate the beginning of the season and bring customers and families together. The event starts at 10 a.m. and will last until 7p.m., offering a range of activities for the entire day. The festivities include the opportunity to buy limited-edition sculptures, one of them is the “Large Fat Cats,” an original design of artist Emma Dengler, daughter of Donna Young, which is one of the owners of Isabel Bloom.
