    CLINTON CO., Iowa (KWQC) - A man charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left another man seriously injured near Wheatland told deputies the crash was the result of a road rage incident, court records show. Jason Maki, 51, faces one count of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, a serious misdemeanor, in Clinton County District Court. He will be arraigned Sept. 6 on the charge. He also was cited for failing to obey a stop sign and yielding the right of way.

    MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - More than 60 animals were seized from a home near Muscatine as part of an ongoing animal neglect case back in June, but now they are free to find a new home. Last week, TV6 reported that authorities had released custody of those animals to a Muscatine shelter, which means their network of foster parents can begin bringing them home to get them ready for adoption.

After years of talks, last week, the Clinton Co. Emergency Management Commission, which includes over a dozen mayors, voted unanimously to end the use of outdoor warning sirens, also known as tornado sirens, at the end of this year.

Davenport hired consultants who believe that demolishing a portion of the building, moving Von Maur to another available space, and adding housing around the mall would be the best way to ensure it survives as a sales tax generator for the city.

    PERU, Ill. (KWQC) - A Tiskilwa couple has been identified as the victims of a fatal crash on I-80 near Peru on Sunday. The LaSalle County Coroner’s Office said 67-year-old Ronald Hansen of Tiskilwa died at the scene of the crash. His wife and passenger, 66-year-old Theresa Hansen, was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. According to the coroner’s office, Hansen was traveling eastbound in a silver minivan on I-80.
