POUGHKEEPSIE — A Poughkeepsie resident was charged with homicide in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man Saturday night on Academy Street, the city’s police department said. Officers responded that night at around 9:40 p.m. to reports of a man bleeding near 27 Academy St. outside the bar Goodnight Kenny. The victim, a 51-year-old man, was found with a stab wound to the chest and was transported for medical treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries, police said in a release.
