LOUIS — Freedom Principle MO is calling for the resignations of Missouri Senate leaders after several Freedom Caucus members were removed from their committee assignments and faced cuts in their staff salaries. The group recently launched an online petition calling for the resignations of Senate President Pro Tem Caleb Rowden (Dist. 19) and Majority Leader Senator Cindy O'Laughlin (Dist. 18), and it also called for the Senate to conduct a vote of no-confidence.

LOUIS — Americans for Prosperity-Missouri recently released its annual scorecard highlighting state lawmakers who the group says are "policy champions" for their work to expand liberty in the state. According to the AFP-MO, the scorecard focuses on what the group sees as key legislative issues such as taxes, education and health care reform. The group's 2023 scorecard features 43 lawmakers in the state Legislature who earned at least a 90 percent score.

ST. LOUIS — The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled Missouri can move forward with at least one part of its 2020 lawsuit against China for the COVID-19 pandemic. The Eighth Circuit Court reversed the lower court's dismissal of just one claim in Missouri's suit against The People's Republic of China and others and stated Missouri can move forward with its allegation of China hoarding personal-protective equipment.

ST. LOUIS — The investment advisor who allegedly orchestrated what prosecutors are calling one of the largest ponzi schemes in Missouri's history, was recently indicted by a grand jury in the U.S. District Court in St. Louis. Siddharth Jawahar, who operated the Texas-based Swiftarc Capital investment company, was indicted on three counts of wire fraud and one count of investment adviser fraud, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Missouri.
