Edmond North had its chances against Yukon starter Grady Hoke on Monday night in the first game of a two-game Class 6A-I series. But the Huskies couldn’t break through, and the Millers scored seven runs in the final two innings to blow open a one-run game in a 9-1 victory. Yukon (14-10 overall, 6-3) got nine strikeouts from Hoke, including two in the fifth with the bases loaded to end the inning.

With time winding down Friday night it looked like Edmond Santa Fe and Southmoore were going to need penalty kicks to determine a winner. Everybody got into the act for Edmond Santa Fe on Monday night. The Wolves scored 29 runs on 21 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Lawton Eisenhower, but their pitching line was even more impressive. Starters Savion Sims and Aidan Allread didn’t allow a run or a hit and combined for 23 strikeouts and one walk. Santa Fe improved to 16-6 overall and 7-1 in Class 6A-I with the sweep, good enough for first place. “We did all three phases of the game,” Santa Fe coach Kris Webb said.
