The mother of crash victim Giovanna Anderson is speaking out after the State Attorney’s Office declined to file DUI manslaughter charges. The backstory: Angelina Anderson and Giovanna Anderson were both killed in a December 2022 crash in Kissimmee. The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of the car was going about 106 miles an hour down State Road 535, near the intersection with US Highway 192. As they turned into this hotel, they lost control of the vehicle and hit a cement pole.

A man was hauled out of the courtroom on Friday after a judge said he would be staying in jail with no bond after allegedly attacking a woman while she was out jogging in College Park. The man accused of that attack has had frequent run-ins with the law in the past few years, and recently was deemed incompetent to stand trial in a different case.

Seminole County’s Board of Commissioners has just approved $184,000 in funding for safety improvements at Fire Station 12 and Fire Station 14, after a dozen vehicles were broken into. Safety improvements coming soon! What we know: The money just approved will go toward fences at Fire Stations 12 and 14, and toward lighting and cameras at other stations if there’s money leftover.

What we know: The City of Sanford is in the midst of a large-scale water meter replacement project, with roughly two-thirds of its 25,000 meters upgraded so far. The new digital meters are intended to provide more accurate, remotely collected readings.
