The owner of the Holiday Inn chain of hotels has reported solid first-quarter results with strong demand in Europe and the Middle East offsetting continued decline in China. InterContinental Hotels Group said it was on track to meet full-year 2025 consensus profit expectations, as global revenue per available room (revpar), a key industry metric, jumped 3.3 per cent for the first quarter compared with 3 per cent over the whole of last year.
