    A Fairfield mom is pleading for information from the public to help find her 16-year-old daughter. Jomana Ali, an upcoming junior at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, went on a walk over one week ago and never returned home, according to her family. They describe Jomana as a good student who loves to read, loves animals, plays the viola and was on the swim team. They told News 12 it’s not like her to disappear without a trace.

    A good Samaritan brought two women to the hospital after a domestic violence stabbing over the weekend, according to Bridgeport police. On Wednesday, Lt. Stacey Lyons gave an update on the incident, calling it “horrific.”“It appears that a young woman went out for her birthday with one of her friends and the friend’s boyfriend,” Lyons said. She told News 12 that the three of them were at Forty 2 Hookah Lounge on Knowlton Street when some kind of argument occurred.

    There was no need for an alarm clock Thursday morning for at least one person living around Birdseye Street in Bridgeport. “I woke up to what I thought was banging on the front door,” said a man, who asked not to be identified. He later learned what he heard were gunshots fired by Bridgeport police. Officers first responded to the 200 block of Birdseye Street after 911 calls came in reporting a suspicious man with a knife, according to Capt. Kevin Gilleran.

    A tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline burst into flames on I-95 south just after Exit 15 in Norwalk, shutting down one of the country's busiest highways on Thursday. It happened around 5:30 a.m. under the Fairfield Avenue bridge. Officials said no one was hurt. The massive fire required every Norwalk fire truck to respond, along with some from surrounding towns and cities.
