INEOS, the petrochemical company which owns a minority stake in Manchester United, is being sued by Tottenham Hotspur after withdrawing from a sponsorship agreement with the Premier League club. In December 2022, Tottenham announced a "multi-year deal" to make the INEOS Grenadier the team's "official 4×4 vehicle partner", with the Grenadier logo featuring on headrests in the stadium dugouts and on matchday advertising.

According to the Old Trafford club's latest financial results, United's cash reserves fell by £22.5m during the three months up until the end of March.

Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Athletic reported on June 2 that the 23-year-old was City's top target to strengthen at left-back. The Algeria international is now set to join in a transfer worth just below €40million (£33m) on a five-year contract with the option of a further year. Ait-Nouri will leave Wolves after 157 appearances over five seasons.

No European football next season for the first time in more than a decade. A "disaster" of a campaign, all in all, as the team's head coach himself freely admits. But there will at least be a fancy new hydration point in the revamped canteen at the training ground next season. Marginal gains, indeed.
