Mike Lawler during a vote to pass a House Republican bill canceling fund for foreign aid, PBS and NPR. Mannion, D-Geddes, began shouting at Mike Lawler, a Republican from the Hudson Valley, after Lawler approached him on the Democratic side of the floor and exchanged words.

Washington – A group of 100 Army soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum will be in Washington, D.C., on Saturday for a military parade to mark the Army’s 250th anniversary. Members of the 10th Mountain Division command team will help support a parade expected to include more than 6,600 soldiers, marching bands, horses, tanks, infantry vehicles, helicopters and parachute jumps.

Washington – House Republicans have passed a bill that could force the U.S. Small Business Administration to shut down its offices in Syracuse and pull out of New York state because they are “sanctuary jurisdictions” with immigrant-friendly policies. The bill requires the SBA to shutter regional, district, or local offices within 60 days if the agency determines the office is in a sanctuary city, county or state.

Kathy Hochul plans to share a personal story about the immigration journey of her Irish grandparents when she testifies today before Congress about the state’s sanctuary policies.
