    Wayne junior basketball star Cam Blankenberg, the two-time All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year, is transferring outside of Section V for his senior season. Blankenberg will attend The Winchendon School, he revealed on Instagram Friday afternoon. The Winchendon School has two campuses: a private day and boarding school in Winchendon, Massachusetts, and a private day school in New York City.

    Years before becoming one of Section V's best shortstops, Gabby Lyons was an eighth-grade outfielder when her older sister, Julianna, hit a solo home run as Pittsford Sutherland won the 2022 Section V Class A2 championship over rival Mendon. Julianna graduated in 2023 and is currently playing softball for the University of Rochester. Since then, Gabby has taken the keys to Sutherland's shortstop spot.
