The Buffalo Bills claimed the defensive tackle off waivers after he was released by the New York Giants. Rogers, a Syracuse native, starred in football and lacrosse at Westhill High School. He originally committed to play lacrosse at Syracuse University, where his father was a coach, before deciding to pursue football at Nebraska. He later transferred to Oregon.

We all need coping strategies as the years add up. Thus, my sister Elizabeth sent me a column in The New York Times entitled “10 Tips for Being Happily 85 Years Old (Like Me).” To be clear, the parenthetical “Like Me” in the title refers to the author, Roger Rosenblatt, not me. I’m only 83. “You are too young for this advice,” Elizabeth wrote, “but you could start preparing your tips.” It would be much easier to just plagiarize Rosenblatt’s tips, though I don’t agree with them all.

Before she died in June of 2024, Debbie Magar of Irondequoit expressed a desire to open a small café, her son Billy Magar said. “She always wanted a café that offered a little bit of this and a little bit of that,” he said of his mother, who with Billy’s father, Bill, once operated a restaurant in Farmington. She wanted to call the place Little Bits. After her death, Billy and his wife, Cayli — who live in Irondequoit with their three young daughters — picked up the mantle.

After a year of bargaining, University of Rochester Medicine Home Care (URMHC) workers and 1199SEIU issued a 10-day notice to URMHC of a five-day strike. The strike is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 18, and end at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 22. URMHC workers provide services to patients in Monroe, Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates counties.
