LeMoyne Arts dreamed up the Chain of Parks Art Festival in 2001 to offer the community an outdoor, diverse fine art experience previously not found in the region, adopting the name of the beautiful downtown Chain of Parks in which it is held.

Word of South seems to get bigger and better each year. From the smashing Violent Femmes opening, to the rollicking closing notes of American Aquarium, from Pharaohs of Funk to P-Funk, from to New Orleans jazz to the Shindellas, the 2025 version sparkled. We come away exhausted but inspired by words of authors sharing their craft, and the conversations with friends and neighbors and the people we always see at this warm and windy playground for artists. Can't stop.

Word of South kicks off April with a bang when the Violent Femmes mix it up with the Tallahassee Symphony on Friday. Grab your sunscreen and get ready for three jam-packed days in the park celebrating over 60 musicians and authors and the books and bands you love. The azaleas have hung on to usher in the 57th Springtime Tallahassee festival in full glory this weekend.
