A 13-year-old girl was shot and killed in Montgomery early Friday morning, police said. At about 2:30 a.m. June 20, police and fire medics went to the 5000 block of Greensboro Court in reference to a person shot, said Sgt. Ernestina McGriff, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. They found Diamond Moore of Montgomery who had suffered fatal injuries from a gunshot wound, she said. Diamond was pronounced dead, McGriff said.

On June 16, deputies went to the 1200 block of West South Boulevard after receiving an assault and kidnapping call, said Assistant Chief Deputy Wesley Richerson. Deputies found a woman who had been seriously injured, Richerson said. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
