Rain chances are expected to fall, and temperatures are expected to climb starting today across Alabama. The rainy pattern of the past few days has shifted to drier and hotter as an area of low pressure moves away from the state, with some of the warmest weather of 2025 expected this week. The National Weather Service is expecting high temperatures today to range from the low 80s in north Alabama to the upper 80s in south Alabama today.

The potential for a few severe storms has been (again) added to the forecast for northern Alabama on Tuesday. The National Weather Service thinks storms will be more likely this afternoon and evening. Forecasters will be watching to see if clusters of storms develop to the west in Mississippi and track eastward into Alabama starting this afternoon. The strongest ones could again bring wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail and heavy rain. The tornado risk is low but not zero.

Several rounds of storms left damage behind, and the National Weather Service plans to see whether tornadoes are to blame for some of it. The weather service offices that cover south Alabama plan to look at damage in two separate places today after a stormy weekend. The weather service office in Mobile said a storm survey team planned to look at damage in southern Mobile County sometime today. Storms early Saturday morning caused considerable damage on Dauphin Island, according to officials.

Isolated severe storms will again be possible in part of Alabama on Monday as an unsettled, soggy stretch of days continues. The National Weather Service reports things may begin to dry out on Wednesday, but forecasters will be on the lookout in case severe weather becomes a possibility again this weekend. Today, NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a Level 1 out of 5 (marginal) risk for severe weather for roughly the eastern half of the state (shown in dark green in the map above).

Another round of isolated severe storms will be possible in Alabama on Sunday, according to forecasters. The National Weather Service thinks damaging winds, hail and more heavy rain will be possible across a wide area in the state. There is also a low risk for a tornado. NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has a Level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk in place for all of south Alabama and part of central Alabama for today (areas in dark green in the map above).
