One of Alabama track’s top talents repeated as an NCAA national champion on Saturday. Doris Lemngole won the women’s 3,000 meter steeplechase event, defending her title in Eugene, Ore. The sophomore posted an 8:58.15 time on Saturday. Not only did it break her previous record, set earlier this season at 9:10.13, but it was the first sub nine-minute women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase for the college level. It’s preview magazine season, and just like most other years, Alabama football players are highly thought of by both Lindy’s and Athlon Sports. Alabama won’t begin preseason camp until early August, before opening the season Aug. 30 with a trip to Florida State.

Ahead of the 2025 season, both Lindy’s and Athlon Sports have Alabama football No. 8 in their top 2025 rankings. The two major preview magazines are predicting an improved year for the Crimson Tide in Kalen DeBoer’s second season at head coach, but still have more than a handful of other teams ranked higher. Between the two, eight squads earned a higher ranking than UA, with two disagreements as to whether a team will finish better than the Tide.
