by: hello world!Art of Lily K| October 7, 2024 | Books & Comics , Movies , Reviewshello world! The first Joker (2019) movie is a big favorite of mine. Joaquin Phoenix’s flawless performance is why he rightfully won all the awards. Did I think that it needed a second movie? No. Do I mind that there’s a follow-up now? No. Does it need to exist? Yes and no. Joker: Folie à Deux is a very interesting one for me.

Beetlejuice (1988) was one of my favorite movies growing up, so when my daughter was old enough to enjoy something from my childhood, I jumped on the chance to watch it with her. She is seven but absolutely LOVES anything weird and creepy, which makes Halloween incredibly fun. I figured the original Beetlejuice movie would be a great introduction to everything I loved while catering to her love of creepy things at the same time. She obviously loved it.

After a seven-day grieving period, The Acolyte returns with Episode 6, “Teach/Corrupt.” This episode is a bit slower than last week’s, but I definitely needed it to be. After the spectacle fights of Episode 5, spending time with characters who aren’t in immediate danger of being murdered is good for my heart. Despite the lack of murder, this might’ve been my favourite episode yet. Pieces are starting to fall into place, and mysteries are so close to being solved.

The Acolyte has returned with Episode 3, and it’s not what I expected. Titled “Destiny,” instead of continuing where Episode 2 left off, we jump several years into the past to see what events have caused the situation the main cast finds themselves in the present. I found the choice to have the flashback episode so early in the season a bit odd, but I still went in with an open mind.

A new season of Demon Slayer is on the horizon, so you know what that means: time for another theatrical outing for the blockbuster series! Demon Slayer has returned to cinemas with its latest cinematic instalment titled Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training. Similar to the To The Swordsmith Village film they released previously, this is a compilation film combining the end of Season 3 and the start of Season 4.
