The Hilltop Gardeners Garden Club will meet Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Oswego Public Library, 32 W. Jefferson St. in downtown Oswego. The meeting opens at 9 a.m. with social time, followed by a program at 9:30 a.m.“Beginning Bonsai” will be presented by Ken Benson. Benson will show attendees what to look for in the wild, at nurseries or in the crevices for good beginning material. From there, he will cover how to begin training, potting and understanding the growing environment of Bonsai.

Stage 212 in La Salle added a matinee performance of its winter 2024 musical, “Bonnie & Clyde,” for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, because of outstanding ticket requests. OREGON – 100 Women Who Care of Ogle County voted in January to give $8,000 to Camp Cedar Illinois Inc., a faith based camp in Steward. The decision was made after the group heard from six charitable organizations. “The camp was created four years ago with the mission to empower young survivors of sexual abuse. Their goal is to create a fun, safe and encouraging environment in order to promote healing and personal growth.

County administration states it would remove the Mental Health Board property tax levy when the sales tax referendum passes March 19. Do board members’ comments reflect the sentiment?
