NEWPORT, Ky. (WXIX) - A woman is hospitalized after jumping out a window of a burning home in Newport Friday morning, fire officials confirm. The fire broke out a little before 9:30 a.m. in the area of West 12th and Putnam streets. Newport Fire/EMS, the Covington Fire Department and the Fire Department of Bellevue-Dayton responded to the scene, later calling for a second alarm. Large smoke clouds could be seen from various points of the Northern Kentucky area and even from across the Ohio River.

For their North American headline tour, the Blurryface musicians will kick off “The Clancy Tour: Breach 2025″ at Cincinnati’s TQL Stadium Sept. 18. Emergency crews issued an evacuation order within a three-mile radius of the Austin Powder Red Diamond Company in McArthur Wednesday morning after a 5,000-gallon tank with nitric acid released 3,000 gallons of nitric oxide into the atmosphere.

The leak happened Wednesday around 8:30 a.m. at the Austin Powder Plant, an explosives manufacturing plant in Vinton County, according to Jackson County Emergency Management Director Robert Czechlewski, who is filling in on behalf of the Vinton County EMA.
