CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A man who was stabbed to death in his OTR home early Wednesday morning is being recalled by one of his good friends as being high energy, a gentleman, and someone who was caring and very protective. Patrick Heringer, 46, died from his injuries at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A third person has now pleaded guilty in connection with the fire that damaged the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge and shut down southbound Interstate 471. Kaitlen Hall, 24, was in court Thursday, where she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice. She was sentenced to 1 year of probation and 40 hours of community service. Another suspect in the case, 26-year-old James Hamilton, is expected to also appear in court Thursday.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A man will spend at least 30 years in jail after an estimated 30 gunshots were fired into a Silverton home, killing a 9-year-old girl. Qasseem Dixon, 27, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and other charges Tuesday for the 2023 shooting that killed Da’Myiah Barton-Pickens. Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Robert Winkler sentenced Dixon to 30 to 35 years in prison as part of the plea agreement.

EVENDALE, Ohio (WXIX) - Results from an independent investigation into the Feb. 7 neo-Nazi demonstration has left one Hamilton County agency shocked. The independent group, 21CP Solutions, released their findings and recommendations on the response to the neo-Nazi demonstration on the Interstate 75 overpass. The group’s report widely backed up the actions of the Evendale Police Department and offered a list of recommendations.

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - Four people face more than 100 total charges in what is believed to be one of the worst cases of animal cruelty in Clermont County, court records show. Authorities found nearly four dozen dogs and several ferrets “feces-covered and urine-stained,” mostly in one room of a house on Campbell Lane in Bethel, according to criminal complaints and affidavits filed in the case.
