CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A baseball field in Hamilton County now bears Pete Rose’s name. The ball field at Boldface Park in Sedamsville has been renamed “Pete Rose Ballfield”. Rose learned to play baseball at Boldface Park, according to Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Kearney. Rose’s daughter, son, grandchildren, other extended family members, and Cincinnati Reds owner Bob Castellini were there for the dedication. Cincinnati’s vice mayor says the Reds are contributing a marker and signage at the park.

(WXIX) - No charges will be brought against the deputies who shot and killed an armed suspect outside of an Amazon facility back in April, Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders announced Tuesday. After a weeks-long investigation into yet another officer-involved shooting, Kentucky State Police and Sanders determined there is no probable cause that the two Boone County Sheriff’s deputies should face criminal charges.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) -Coming off the heels of Hamilton County Deputy Larry Henderon’s funeral, local law enforcement is honoring more than 100 officers who lost their lives in the line of duty during National Police Week. A ceremony at Fountain Square began at 11 a.m., where supporters gathered to remember fallen law enforcement. Among those who attended was Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval.

Police Chief Teresa Theetge said Rodney Hinton Jr. is the father of an 18-year-old who was killed in an officer-involved shooting on Thursday in East Price Hill.
