Stuckart's bond was set at $500. Updated on June 11, 9:15 p.m.--Former Spokane city councilmember Ben Stuckart was detained during a protest outside the Spokane ICE office. Stuckart organized the protest to stop agents from transporting a young man from Venezuela who had applied for asylum.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane children will have safer paths to Scott Elementary School this fall. On April 28th, the city launched a three-month construction project to add new sidewalks and improved crosswalks to the area. The City of Spokane awarded William Winkler Co. the contract to construct the Scott Elementary Safe Routes to School project. Work includes adding sidewalks on East Hartson Avenue from Freya to Havana Street and on the east side of Rebecca Street between Hartson and 5th Avenue.
