SPOKANE, Wash - Developers of a massive housing development in Spokane's Latah Valley can get moving on the property, after following guidelines put in place by the Spokane hearing examiner. The plan for Victory Heights was approved with conditions. The property allows the developer to subdivide 18 parcels of 177 acres into 997 lots. That's down from 1,003 in the original plan. The land is west of Highway 195, about four miles from downtown Spokane.

The U.S. government says its trying to determine if Washington schools are violating federal law by allowing transgender athletes to play on girls sports teams. The government's Title IX Investigations Team announced it's launching an investigation into the Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The team is a joint initiative of the Dept of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice.

BOISE, Idaho - As the state moves closer to putting accused quadruple killer Bryan Kohberger on trial for the murder of four University of Idaho students, the judge in the case again denied the defense team's request to take the death penalty off the table. Kohberger is accused of killing Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle and Kaylee Goncalves in an off-campus home in November 2022. He's set to go to trial in August.
