Visitor spending was also up, reaching $1.53 billion, according to information released by Visit Spokane on Thursday. The organization says the visitor economy also supported 18,000 jobs in Spokane County.

    SAN BRUNO, California - Gonzaga and Washington State men's basketball teams will play each other twice in the regular season in what will be both teams' final year in the WCC. WSU is playing in the WCC while the Pac-12 is being rebuilt; Gonzaga has played in the WCC since 1979 and will join the Pac-12 in the fall of 2026. 12 teams will play in the WCC next season with Seattle University joining the conference.

    CHENEY, Wash - Over 1,700 students were evacuated from Cheney High School and Three Springs High School Wednesday afternoon for a bomb threat. According to Cheney Police, the threat came in as an anonymous online tip through the School District's website. Law enforcement from around the region, including bomb sniffing dogs and the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, came out to help with the threat. Buses for all schools in the district were delayed due to the evacuation.

    SPOKANE, Wash - The Gonzaga men's basketball team got a boost in the rotation Wednesday, landing a key transfer from the portal. Tyon Grant-Foster announced on Instagram that he's committed to the Zags. The 6'7" wing was the WAC player of the year in 2024. He made the all-conference first team this season as well, despite missing the last five games of the season. The Kansas City native played two seasons for the Lopes.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane's newest Home Depot is getting close to opening its doors. The new store on South Regal will officially open June 12. The store is at 4515 South Regal. The site has been vacant since Shopko closed in 2019. Original plans called for the building to be 137,470 square feet with a garden center. The parking lot has been redone and is complete with new lighting and landscaping.
