M@ Sir Rod Stewart Gets A London Plaque Legendary rocker/crooner gets a station plaque on the eve of his Glastonbury set. Sir Rod Stewart has been honoured with a new plaque at Twickenham station. Why Twickenham? It was here in 1964 that the future Sir Rod's talent was first acknowledged, while he was busking on the platform. And not by any old music scout, either.

M@ See These Vintage Ambulances Near Waterloo Seen these two vintage vehicles on Waterloo Road? If you walk along Waterloo Road, south past the Old Vic towards Elephant, then you can't help but spot the gathering of fluorescent ambulances around the London Ambulance Service (LAS) building. After 16 years, I’m taking a break from Twitter until such time as someone turns it around again. Find me over on Substack, which is a (mostly) lovely place for writers and readers, and where I post most of my London stuff. Au revoir! https://t.co/5kOoaFbgrV

Great to see a new version of this. I have no idea if it's easier to use or not, but it certainly looks very nice.

Just found in mum’s attic. LOVED these as a kid. Taught me the joy of wordplay. Thank you so much @GylesB1 . I’m chuckling anew at this list of names, which were all apparently real. Will pass on to my kids! https://t.co/OE7VNFSQ6U
