A restaurant owner in Montreal’s Little Italy wanted to open a terrasse and after years of trying to get approval, he is finally seeing progress. Primo & Secundo owner Roberto Stabile eventually contacted CTV News due to his frustration at not being able to have his dream of a terrasse for the summer. “June, July, August we taper off,” he said.

In less than two weeks, the eyes of the racing world will be on Montreal. While some of the finishing touches are being put on the track, organizers say you can expect a much different F1 weekend. “I think it’s safe to say that we’ve done a total 180 compared to last year,” Sandrine Garneau, the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix chief operating officer. Last year’s race had a number of problems. The rain caused flooding and a lot of mud at the race site. Communication was also an issue.

In less than three weeks, the world’s best racers will speed around the Gilles Villeneuve track. Villeneuve carries legendary status in F1 circles, but lately, the name has been connected to what’s happened off the track. A statue of Gilles was stolen, and Villeneuve’s family seized their belongings from the Gilles Villeneuve museum. “We’ve been looking into what’s been going on and how people are either using his image, talking about him,” Melanie Villeneuve, Gilles’ daughter said.
