    The owner of the Trail Center Lodge near Grand Marais caught a Canada lynx on a casual stroll along her porch on Sunday. Sarah Hamilton, the owner of Trail Center Lodge, said she at first thought her dog was reacting to a fox, but then noticed the length of the creature and caught it on video. “He just went all the way around my house. And I caught him on the front deck once I got my dog under control,” Hamilton said. As of Wednesday, the video uploaded to Facebook has received over 31,000 views.

The contest offers people the chance to submit ideas and eventually vote to pick eight winners — with those winning names going on plows in each of MnDOT’s eight districts around the state. Want to vote? You can pick up to eight names, and voting is open until noon on Friday, Feb. 7. Visit the MnDOT website to cast your vote.
