PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has filed a lawsuit against LA Fitness, alleging negligence and lack of adequate security after a 2023 beating that sent him to the hospital. In March 2023, the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was attacked in the sauna of an LA Fitness located at 8888 Lantana Road. In the lawsuit, it states that three known members of the Latin Kings attacked and robbed Hernandez, leaving him with extensive injuries.

According to the United States Department of Justice, Samantha Yi, 31, of Palm Beach County, has been sentenced to 24 years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl that led to the death of a 10-month-old infant in Boynton Beach in 2022. Yi and her boyfriend, Darnell Mendez, pleaded guilty in September 2024 to the distribution of fentanyl after the baby's mother purchased the drug that was later ingested by the baby, resulting in the infant's death.
