We just returned from a three-night media cruise on the brand-new Norwegian Aqua cruise ship, and we had an awesome time. But being a theme park enthusiast, one thing stood out: the world’s first-of-its-kind launching water slide, the Aqua Slidecoaster. Norwegian Cruise Line bills the Aqua Slidecoaster as “the world’s first hybrid roller coaster and water slide.” While the “world’s first” part is correct, I wouldn’t call it a roller coaster.

Epic Universe isn’t open yet — it’s still on track for May 22, 2025 — but in the past few days, team members have been able to preview the park, and they’re allowed to bring three of their family members or those those closest to them. My wife and I were so proud to see what our son has been working on for the past year and a half as his guests.

The Immerse performing and interactive art festival is returning to downtown Orlando Feb. 21–23, 2025, with headlining acts by Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, and Michael James Scott. 2025 will be the 10th year of Immerse in the heart of Downtown Orlando. This year’s event will feature hundreds of artists across 10 city blocks: creative encounters, live performances, and interactive installations that transform Downtown Orlando into a hub of creativity and wonder.
