The protest spilled into the streets in front of the Capitol before moving down Lincoln Street and eventually Broadway. At one point, protesters in the area of Broadway and Exposition Avenue were ordered to leave by the Denver Police Department.

Colorado and 15 other states have sued the Trump administration over its plan to allow the sale of forced-reset triggers that make semiautomatic rifles fire more rapidly and return devices already seized to their owners. The lawsuit filed Monday against the U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives argues that returning the triggers would violate federal law, pose a threat to residents and law enforcement and worsen gun violence.

The Colorado State Patrol is looking for a driver who shot into another vehicle in a suspected act of road rage early Monday morning just off Interstate 25 in the Berthoud area. The driver whose vehicle was shot at was not injured in the incident. Troopers responded to a call at about 1:13 a.m. Monday reporting the incident that started on northbound I-25 near the Berthoud exit, according to a CSP news release.

Nearly 30,000 customers were without power in Adams County on Friday morning, according to Xcel Energy. The utility’s outage map shows 29,132 customers, largely in Westminster, Thornton and Northglenn, had lost power as of 10:40 a.m.Xcel said on its outage map that its crews are assessing damage and did not offer an estimated time of restoration. A climber from Golden died Sunday afternoon after falling in the Riviera climbing area west of Boulder. At 3:15 p.m. Sunday, dispatchers received a 911 text that stated a climber had been injured in the 33700 block of Boulder Canyon Drive, according to a news release from Boulder County. As sheriff’s deputies responded, more 911 texts came through stating that CPR was in progress and the 41-year-old man was unresponsive.
