INDIANA, USA — A big milestone has taken place for southern Indiana. Thanks to a higher sun angle and warmer weather, two-inch soil temperatures have now warmed up to 50 degrees. Central and northern Indiana still has soil temperatures in the 40s. Tap HERE to see the Purdue Mesonet to track ground temperatures. Tap HERE for the latest local weather forecast across central Indiana. Why 50 degrees is important? You do not want to plant two early for two reasons.

Share INDIANA, USA — After a brief warmup across Indiana with the first 50s in about two weeks, another cold front is on the way with rain and eventual snow chances ahead. Scattered rain is likely Sunday night and Monday morning. The upper-level pattern is a bit messy so not everything hits at once. Expect additional light rain showers Tuesday, followed by some scattered snow showers on Wednesday. Slick spots may be possible. Everything this week looks to be on the light side.
