SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Fire Department is alerting the public to fraudulent donation requests. The Fire Department said it has recently received multiple inquiries from concerned people regarding how they can donate to the department. The agency said that it was made aware that phone calls are being made by scammers pretending to represent the Syracuse Fire Department and requesting donations.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Phase One of the Creekwalk Security Camera Initiative is now complete. Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh said that the new system will enhance safety and security along the creekwalk's trail. The initiative includes 20 cameras along the pathway from Onondaga Lake to downtown Syracuse. The cameras are mounted on existing light poles and are placed strategically, Mayor Walsh said. Key spots include the Inner Harbor kayak launch and three spots near the Inner Harbor Amphitheater.
