The complaint, dated June 11, was made by Aregano's former secretary, Natalie VanEpps. SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Governor Kathy Hochul is asking New York State residents to be careful the week of June 23, as near record high temperatures are expected, especially at the beginning of the week. The "feels-like" temperature for parts of the state can be around 100 degrees. Extreme heat has been the number one cause of death for weather-related fatalities for the last three decades. In 2024, 199 people were killed due to heat-related illnesses.
