MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — A man was rescued after nearly being swept away by rising floodwaters in McLennan County Tuesday afternoon. According to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 1 p.m. they went to help a man that told 911 he was trapped in his car because of rising floodwaters across his private driveway on Battle Lake Road in Reisel, located east of Waco. The man told the dispatchers that water was quickly entering his car and that it had reached his seat.

Testimonies once again continued in the trial surrounding a stabbing death at Belton High School in 2022 as court proceedings entered its seventh day. In the morning segment of proceedings, questioning continued for Belton Police Detective Gene Cole, who was one of two officers that took the stand in the previous day of testimonies.
