Police say a child and woman were found dead inside a southern Indiana home on Monday, and it's believed one of them was killed by a dog. The Huntingburg Police Department was dispatched to 107 N Geiger St around 3:37 p.m. about a person found inside with blood on them. Huntingburg is about an hour east of New Albany. When officers made their way into the home, they found a woman and child unresponsive.

Workers at Caesars Southern Indiana Hotel and Casino are on strike over a contract dispute. Officials with Teamsters Local 89 said more than 140 union workers are on strike. They said Caesars "failed to offer a fair contract that matches the property’s record-breaking profits."According to Teamsters, the hotel and casino made more than $240 million in revenue in 2024. This puts them among the most profitable casinos in the state, officials said.

A southern Indiana man was arrested last week and charged with child battery, according to police. According to Indiana State Police, a trooper responded to reports of battery to a 4-year-old child in Scott County on April 4. Police said the alleged incident happened on April 3. The child was taken to Norton Children's Hospital and evaluated by a forensic team. The Indiana Department of Child Services then got involved, interviewing the child.

Louisville Metro Police Department claims that Darrie Woods got mad while waiting to place an order at Dizzy Whizz in Old Louisville last month. Woods then allegedly followed a female employee inside, pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her. He was arrested over the weekend after a high-speed police chase.

An 18-year-old is facing charges after police say he shot a 13-year-old boy in the Shawnee neighborhood last year.According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, Chante Simmons shot the boy in the face at a home on S 41st Street on November 6, 2024.The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment.Simmons was arrested three days after the shooting on an unrelated weapons charge.

A man is dead after being shot in the Park Hill neighborhood on Friday, according to Louisville Metro Police Department.LMPD said officers responded to the 1600 block of Dumesnil Street around 12:15 p.m. about a shooting.The officers found a man outside of the home who had been shot when they arrived.

Louisville Metro Police Department is asking for the community's help identifying two suspects in a violent carjacking in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood. LMPD said the two suspects approached a woman in her car on July 24, 2024 in the 500 block of S Campbell Street. Police allege the suspects showed handguns and demanded the woman give them the car keys. They go on to claim that the two suspects took her keys and hit her in the head with a handgun.
