The weekend holiday brought a record crowd to Gobbler’s Knob, as well as to the various festivities taking place all throughout town. The grounds were packed with Phil’s Phaithful braving the chilly night for a glimpse of the Seer of Seers and Prognosticator of Prognosticators.

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Phil’s new home at Gobbler’s Knob is nearly complete — and will be christened the Bill Deeley Groundhog Zoo, the Groundhog Club Inner Circle announced at the annual banquet on Saturday. President Tom Dunkel said Deeley — himself a former president of the club — and family made a generous donation to the project.
