(EYT) — A Punxsutawney man escaped injury after crashing his vehicle into a tree along Route 536 in Jefferson County, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police in Punxsutawney. The crash happened around 5:37 p.m. on April 8 in Perry Township. Troopers said Oliver Smith, 18, was driving a 2014 Subaru Legacy northbound when he failed to maintain his lane while navigating a left-hand curve.

    DANVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The PennWest University Clarion women’s golf team placed fifth at the Husky Spring Invitational on Thursday, posting a team score of 363 at Frosty Valley Golf Course. According to tournament results provided by Bloomsburg University, Hailee Liptak led the Golden Eagles with a round of 89, tying for 10th out of 67 competitors. She recorded par on eight holes and carded a 45 on the front nine and 44 on the back.
