SPECIALIST tech distributor Climb Channel Solutions Ireland has opened a new HQ in South County Business Park. The firm, which was previously known as DataSolutions, still operates its Nangor Road Business Park premises, as it continues to grow. The new HQ is part of a wider plan by the group to expand into Europe with plans to build a presence in the Asia-Pacific market in the future. The move follows on from a strong first quarter for Climb Global Solutions.

Published as part of the chief executive’s report for May, the local authorities 2024 Annual Report “reflects a year of achievement, innovation, and community engagement, marking 30 years of service” since the establishment of SDCC in 1994.

THERE are currently 24 operational data centres in the county, according to South Dublin County Council. Concerns have been raised by numerous local representatives regarding data centres and their growing energy consumption and environmental impact. Data centres currently consume one fifth of Ireland’s electricity and are projected to use one-third in the next few years.

OVER 70 per cent of senior managers in financial services see regulatory compliance as one of the top challenges facing their business this year. The survey from IT services provider Auxilion, based in Citywest, and partner HPE, also found that a quarter are not confident their organisation would comply with CSRD requirements, while a similar proportion don’t believe current regulations around AI in the financial industry are sufficient.
