A retired dentist who was diagnosed with tonsil cancer says early identification is critical, as new data shows people with symptoms of mouth cancers are not seeking medical help early enough. Bryan Webber, from Cardiff, went to see his doctor in 2019 after noticing a white patch on his tonsil and feeling a small lump on his neck. He said his professional experience meant he knew what to look for, but too many people were putting off getting checked.

Around 27,500 runners are set take to the streets for the Principality Half Marathon on Sunday October 1 - the event's 20th anniversary year. The streets of the capital will be awash with runners and their supporters for one of the biggest events in the capital's sporting calendar. It started back in 2003 with just 1,500 runners, with this year seeing the biggest number of entrants to date running the course which starts at Cardiff Castle and finishes at the Civic Centre.

A major UK supermarket has apologised after being accused of "misleading" customers over packaging of its 'British' apples. Waitrose have responded after an X, formerly known as Twitter, user uploaded a picture of a packet of Waitrose 'British Jazz Crisp Apples' which showed that the fruit was from Chile. Robert Brignall said: “The image shows 'British Jazz Apple's (with Union Flag to emphasise Britishness).

A man has been arrested following a car chase in Cardiff. South Wales Police have confirmed that they used a taser after pursuing a car which had been reported stolen. In a statement on social media South Wales Police' roads policing unit said that a car reported stolen had been sighted in the Llanrumney area of Cardiff.

A mum from Wales whose 10-year-old son was savagely killed by an XL American Bully dog has called for the breed to be banned in Britain urgently after an almost identical dog attacked at least three people, causing them serious injuries in Birmingham.
