Until it happens, he and his canine companions at Helping Hands Humane Society would love a night or two to “slumber” with human friends!Bagel Lizard visited Eye on NE Kansas with Emi Griess of HHHS to explain how foster slumber parties and dog/cat fosters can help the shelter care for more animals. Bagel Lizard is a year-old male mixed breed. He has a sweet personality, and is content whether playing or resting.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Every year, the State of Kansas takes time to remember the tragedy of the Holocaust. Their ceremony honors the victims, and recognizes survivors, their children and World War II veterans. Jessica Rockhold with the Midwest Holocaust Education Center and Rabbi Sam Stern from Topeka’s Temple Beth Sholom visited Eye on NE Kansas to share information about the commemoration. This year’s program will feature a proclamation by Gov. Laura Kelly and a presentation by Dr. Lindsay MacNeil.

The annual partnership between Topeka Metro and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1360 to support Project Topeka takes place Saturday, April 19. Local 1360 member Jeremy Holloway and Topeka Metro’s Keri Renner visited Eye on NE Kansas to share the details. Stuff the Bus has been going on for 39 years - since 1986 - the same year that Project Topeka began.

Dr. Bradley Poole, an orthopedic surgeon at Topeka’s Cotton O’Neil Orthopedic and sports medicine, says active lifestyles can take a toll on our joints. “Sports injuries, you’ll see folks with ligament instability, anything like that can really predispose your knee to some early wear and tear,” he said. A knee replacement is often the answer.

Thad Halstead visited Eye on NE Kansas to share the details. Nashville Nights: An Evening of Music & Storytelling is at 7 p.m. May 10 at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. Thad said performance is unique because the writers not only will perform the songs, they’ll also share the stories behind them.
