    The battle between Ní Raghallaigh (SF), O'Loughlin (FF) and Wall (Lab) continues in Kildare South for the second and third seat. After the eighth count, the Sinn Fein councillor is 183 votes ahead of the Fianna Fail Senator, with Senator Wall a further 379 behind O'Loughlin. Melissa Byrne (Aontu) is now eliminated and her 2,380 votes are being distributed. Martin Heydon is already secure and will win the first seat. Here is the result of the eighth count.
