MINNETONKA – The 6th annual Snowflake Ball, a semi-formal dance for adults with special needs, is next month. Charges: Defense attorney swindled $15K from Minnetonka man who hired her

MINNETONKA – A defense attorney is accused of stealing $15,000 from her client, a 53-year-old Minnetonka man who was facing drug charges, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office. Kristi McNeilly, 44, of Woodbury, is charged with one count of theft by swindle. The charge is a felony. She is expected to make her first court appearance July 10, a news release from the attorney’s office says. If convicted, Minnesota sentencing guidelines call for 10 years in prison and/or $20,000.

Thousands of bicyclists – riding on everything from a penny-farthing to tandem and recumbent bikes to bikes pulling carriers and road bikes – took in the sights of the Lake Minnetonka area and beyond as they rode in the 14th annual Tour de Tonka on Aug. 3. More than 3,400 people, including more than 1,100 first-time Tour de Tonka riders, participated in this year’s event, said Tim Litfin, executive director of the Minnetonka Community Education, which puts on the event.
