HOUSTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - The Houston County sheriff said more arrests could be possible Wednesday in connection to a teen found beaten to death. Michael Ortiz, 16, was found dead near a creek off County Road 4020 on Friday, May 2, after he was last seen on April 29, causing police to launch a murder investigation. Four suspects, including two minors, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler police have released a body cam video showing the moment a Tyler police officer’s gun was fired from his holster while attempting to make an arrest. According to Tyler Police Department spokesperson Andy Erbaugh, police first responded to a theft at Dollar General on Gentry Parkway around 2 p.m. on Sunday. Brianna Erwin is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant, among other charges.

The officers then found the suspects had run away from the store toward the intersection of Albertson and Whitlen avenue.
