The legislation would require school districts across the state to create rules banning the use of cell phones by students during school hours. “What they do outside this time with us, its going to be more than enough to be on a cell phone or on social media or TikTok,” said Tyler ISD Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler Junior College welcomed back one of their greats on Thursday. Chris Tomlin was inducted into the College’s Ovation Society, which honors graduates who excel in the arts. Tomlin is one of the most well-known Christian artists of all time, amassing over a billion streams. “People have always said, how do you keep your feet on the ground, with all the things, and I always say it’s where I come from,” said Tomlin, a Grand Saline ISD graduate.

They kicked off their “Serve United” days at the East Texas Food Bank on Friday morning. “I say it all the time; we really cannot do it without people like them,” said Food Bank CEO David Emerson. Claire Fath was accepted to the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Military Academy at West Point. “I got a call from my congressman telling me I got in, and I texted him because I couldn’t pick up the phone and said ‘this is legit?’ cause I thought it was fake,” said Fath.
