Tens of thousands of spectators circled the Lexington Battle Green at 5:15 a.m. on April 19 to witness the start of the American Revolution. Silence fell over the crowd in anticipation of the reenactment of “the shot heard round the world.” As the first signs of dusk lightened the sky, many people stood on their tiptoes to catch a glimpse of the Battle of Lexington unfold. People from all over the country traveled to honor this moment in history.

A Penske delivery truck crashed in Chinatown yesterday, hospitalizing multiple people involved in the accident. The truck was overturned on the corner of Kneeland Street and Harrison Avenue. “We don’t have any reason to believe that this was an intentional act,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said. While the incident is still under investigation, WCVB has reported that the driver of the truck allegedly has a history of seizures.

Emerson men’s lacrosse team had two players, Peirce Eldredge and Malcolm McGrath, last season that started in 2019.

Makenna Cannon came to Emerson College in 2023 excited about their major. The now-sophomore in the health and social change program arrived on campus committed to a new initiative that promised a space where students could create lasting change to improve public health. But now in their fourth semester, the future of the program is suddenly uncertain, they say. Nine of the 10 total students in the program met with Provost Alexandra Socarides on Jan. 30 to discuss the future of the major.
