WINSLOW, Ariz. — The City of Winslow and the Winslow Chamber of Commerce are hosting the 76th annual Christmas parade Nov. 18. This year’s theme is “An Indigenous Christmas.”“We are excited about this year’s theme, as it honors the communities and people who come out and support our parade every year, by sharing their beautiful culture and traditions,” the city said in a statement. The parade is one of the longest running parades in Northern Arizona.

PINON, Ariz. — The Pinon Eagles High School football team has dominated the 2A Little Colorado Region this season. The team has reeled off eight wins in a row, and remain undefeated. Only half of their opponents have managed to put points the board. They are 5-0, 8-0 this season and are currently No.19 in the 2A Conference. Currently, they are at the top of the 2A Little Colorado Region. The team faces Holbrook on the road Oct. 20. The Roadrunners are 5-0 in the region and No. 27 in conference rankings.

DeKALB – With both the NIU men’s and women’s basketball teams scheduled to start their regular seasons early next month, the school held its media day Tuesday for its winter sports. The men tip off Nov. 6 at Marquette, while the women’s season begins Nov. 9 at Arkansas State. Both have high expectations. Here are some of the big reasons both third-year men’s coach Rashon Burno and ninth-year women’s coach Lisa Carlsen are optimistic about the upcoming season.

Aperion Care Princeton will host a Fall Festival and Garden Unit Open House from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 515 Bureau Valley Parkway in Princeton. The event will feature raffles, prizes and tours of the garden unit. Philly Factory and Flo’s on Pulaski food trucks will also be on the premise until 7 p.m.

The former president of a McHenry girls softball league has been charged with a felony count of theft, accused of taking cash from the league’s accounts for personal use. Natalie G. Phelps, 35, of the 400 block of North Kent Road, McHenry, was arrested by McHenry police on Monday, according to a police news release. Police said board members from the McHenry Pigtail Softball League reported on Aug.
