A Pennsylvania state senator is pushing to outlaw single-use plastic bags at retail stores across the entire commonwealth. This is over concerns about the environment and public health. Sen. Judith Schwank, D-Berks County, said the concerns are so serious that a group of young student advocates in her district helped develop legislation she wants to introduce. According to her memo, the measure would prevent retailers from providing plastic bags at the point of sale.
