Western Australia’s bid to host the AFL’s Gather Round will include a $5 million transformation to Leederville Oval, it has been confirmed, for both the men and women’s games. The state government confirmed it will revamp the grounds, including by replacing the maligned ground, the goal posts, boundary fencing and dug outs and upgrading the lighting for night games to be broadcast.

Renamed Sullivan Logistics Stadium in 2023, the ground's troubled playing surface is set to be replaced entirely this off season and its lights upgraded, elevating it to an AFL tier 2 venue. The agreement, spearheaded by the City of Vincent opens the door for future Gather Round matches and AFLW fixtures.

Australian Embassy staff accompanied her during the 30-minute hearing during which questions were asked about Nelson's strict communication ban. Aside from her lawyers, Embassy Staff and a pastor, the only person allowed to visit Nelson has been her three-year-old granddaughter.
